Available during Zambia’s June-to-November dry season this 13-day tour begins by showcasing two of the country’s best game-viewing destinations at their most rewarding. The South Luangwa National Park is the more famous of the two a broad river valley teeming with Africa’s biggest animals – elephants hippos buffalo and giraffe – as well as the full spectrum of predators like lions wild dogs hyenas and crocodiles. The Luambe National Park is less well known but no less exciting: home to unusual animals like Crawshay’s zebra and Thornicroft’s giraffe it is a bird-watching paradise and at no time more so than when thousands of beautiful carmine bee-eaters arrive in the late dry season to nest in the banks of the Luambe River.
