Chichén Itzá (2)

Chichén Itzá is probably the most famous archeological site in Mexico and North America. About 1000-1500 years ago it was one of the largest Mayan cities and surrounded by myths and religious beliefs, The site features different architectural styles. "El Castillo" (the castle) was the way to the Sun and is still one of the most famous buildings.

Acapulco

Acapulco is one of Mexico's oldest beach resorts, with cliff diving featured in movies with Elvis Presley. It was a popular tourist resort, but due to a massive upsurge in gang violence, drugs and murder it no longer attracts many foreign tourists.

Cabo San Lucas

Los Cabos is a municipality at the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California Peninsula. It includes the two towns of Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo. It is the starting point for snorkeling, diving and fishing activities in the surrounding waters.

Cancun

Cancun and Playa del Carmen are famous beach resorts on the Riviera Maya with the best hotels, bars and a lot of US-Americans.

Gulf of California

The Gulf of California, also known as the Sea of Cortés, is the sea that separates the Baja California Peninsula from the Mexican mainland. It is also called "The World's Aquarium", for obvious reasons.
