Swakopmund (en Walvisbaai) is de speeltuin van Namibië, een vakantiebestemming voor zowel toeristen als de lokale bevolking die de hitte van het binnenland wil ontvluchten en een beetje avontuur wil hebben. Swakopmund is vooral bekend vanwege de duinen, waar je vanaf kunt glijden of skiën.
Etosha is een groot nationaal park met wilde dieren in Namibië. Je kunt de Big Five hier vinden, plus een overvloed aan woestijnleven.
Windhoek is de hoofdstad en enige grote stad van Namibië.
De Namib is een kustwoestijn in zuidelijk Afrika. Er valt zo weinig regen per jaar, dat dit de enige echte woestijn is en echt niet bewoonbaar.
De Fish River Canyon is de op één na grootste natuurlijke kloof ter wereld en de grootste in Afrika. Gelegen in een ruwe, steenachtige vlakte bezaaid met droogtebestendige vetplanten, zoals de kenmerkende pijlkoker of ´kokerboom´, is de kloof een spectaculair natuurverschijnsel.
