La Paz ("La Paix") à une altitude de 4071m est la capitale la plus haute du monde. Si vous arrivez ici depuis un pays bas, vous devrez d'abord vous adapter. La Paz abrite de nombreux peuples indigènes dont les hommes ont les cheveux longs et les femmes portent de grandes jupes rondes et un chapeau. Intéressant aussi sont les marchés qui proposent des fœtus de lama pour les cérémonies religieuses.
