Svalbard (aka Spitsbergen) and Jan Mayen is a Norwegian group of islands, in the utmost northern part of Europe. It's capital Longyearbyen with 2500 people is the only real city there. The islands are known for snow, ice and the other inhabitants: polar bears.

Longyearbyen is the largest settlement and the administrative centre of Svalbard (aka. Spitsbergen), the most Northern province of Norway. Very few people live in this cold place.
