Travel Destinations of Wellington (New Zealand).
There isn't a lot of wildlife on either North- or South Island of New Zealand and this mainly because it is a new and remote country, risen from the sea. You will find a lot of space, nature in all varieties, plenty of sheep and the local Kea bird (a small parrot). In the far south you may even find a few penguin species and the mighty Albatross. When you come here, you like to be away from it all and you don't mind a little chill, a bit of wind or some rain. Locals call themselves Kiwis, like the bird and the fruit.

Wellington is the capital of New Zealand, but not the largest city. Located at the far bottom of Nort Island, most people will pass here when crossing between both islands.
Wellington is close to the home of the Hobbits, some of the smallest people in the film industry (The Lord of the Rings). Thee is also a nice funicular train ride.
