Kazakhstan is one of the largest countries in the world, mostly central Asian and Muslim. It consists of a lot of deserts and plains, but also high mountains in the South near its former capital Almaty. Because of its location it has taken a central spot in trading between the East and the West.

Almaty, the former capital known as Alma-Ata, remains the largest city and cultural and economic center of Kazakstan.
