Medina, offiziell bekannt als Al Madinah Al Munawwarah, ist eine der heiligsten Städte im Islam. Medina gilt allgemein als „Wiege der islamischen Kultur und Zivilisation“. Die Prophetenmoschee ist im Islam von außerordentlicher Bedeutung und dient als Grabstätte des Propheten Mohammed.
